Totally turn off the processing of MESSAGE until I can remember what the   one
that did not get committed had to say.    

Don't try to use 'pkg-message' for now.  I forgot to `cvs add` it when I  
upgrade the port, and I don't remember what its contents were now. :-(

As threatened on freebsd-ports: all startup scripts know about the two   options
`start' and `stop' now (unless I have forgotten any). This allows   us to call
the scripts from /etc/rc.shutdown with the correct option.
