Remove some patches in favour of USE_LIBTOOL_VER=15

Backout previous change - it seems that new revision of the patch doesn't  
apply everywhere.    

Don't filter libc_r on 5-CURRENT.    

Don't link in libc - FreeBSD doesn't need this.    

- Update to 0.1.8;   - get rid of useless .la file;   - don't hardcode package
version number into library name - it's bogus.
