There hasn't been a release of pointless in over two and a half years and the
development mailing list has been dead for some time too. Furthermore local
pacthes have been needed since python 2.4 was added to the ports tree.
Schedule for removal in 2 months.

Mass-conversion to the USE_AUTOTOOLS New World Order. The code present
in bsd.autotools.mk essentially makes this a no-op given that all the
old variables set a USE_AUTOTOOLS_COMPAT variable, which is parsed in
exactly the same way as USE_AUTOTOOLS itself.
Moreover, USE_AUTOTOOLS has already been extensively tested by the GNOME
team -- all GNOME 2.12.x ports use it.
Preliminary documentation can be found at:
http://people.FreeBSD.org/~ade/autotools.txt
which is in the process of being SGMLized before introduction into the
Porters Handbook.
Light blue touch-paper. Run.

dvips has moved from print/teTeX to print/dvipsk-tetex. Reflect this by
adding a dependency on print/dvipsk-tetex.

This release contains a large number of fixes (including fixes for
a few crashbugs and for serious problems with fullscreen support).
A number of new features has been added as well: tables, scaling of
pll-embedded content (like LaTeX or Metapost), pll-to-tgz packing etc.
It should also be mentioned that pointless no longer uses python
embedded
but has become a plain python extension. Finally pointless now uses far
less memory and cpu cycles.

Both latex and dvips are included in the print/teTeX port, but are
installed from print/latex and print/dvips with the old list of
dependencies, thus resulting in the installation of conflicting ports.
This update removes those dependencies.

While doing the update, I noticed a file missing in the plist, so I added
that as well and bumped the PORTREVISION.

Upgrade misc/pointless to version 0.4
This release is mainly a bug-fix and clean-up release but
a few new features have also been added: The Pll language
now supports plain background images (not stretched or
tiled) as well as images with a fixed position. Customization
support has been added to some pll commands. As to the
portability of pointless, the Mac OS port appears to work
smoothly by now. Moreover, the SDL variant of pointless
has been updated to reflect most of the features in the X11
variant. Finally, the manual has been updated to reflect
all new features.

Pointless is a presentation tool primarily targeted at the un*x
world. Presentations are made using a simple markup-language (best
described as a mix between TeX and Pod, and affectionately known as
"The Pointless Language"). The resulting slideshow is rendered using
FreeType and OpenGL for optimal visual quality.
