I think I figured it out. If I type in the search string and then press the Enter key, not the Go button, then the search results come up empty. I wasn't being consistent, so when I went back and clicked the radio button to "Include deleted ports", I then clicked "Search" to start the search. When I use the Enter key on the results page after selecting "Include deleted ports" then the next page with results shows no search hits.
I am using IE6 (6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633) on Windows XP and installed the Google toolbar, if that matters. I tried disabling the Google toolbar and allowing site popups and neither change seemed to make a difference.
I don't see this problem with Mozilla 1.2.1 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20030225). When I press the Enter key or click Go, it all works.
