I am contemplating changing FreshPorts from charset=ISO-8859-1 to charset=UTF-8 to better handle things such as umlauts. The issue isn't so much the webpages as it is the XML into which the commit messages are encoded prior to being loaded into the database. http://beta.freshports.org/ is already running with charset=UTF-8. Any comments?
