 lirc on FreeBD 5.2 with devfs

I have problems with lirc. It could not create /dev/lircd on FreeBSD 5.2.1 with devfs. I googled but find nothing on how to create device nodes under FreeBSD with devfs. On FreeBSD 4.8 I have no problems with this port.
