Hi,
I am a newbie and have just installed FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE, I need to
get my Samsung Inforanger USB cable modem to work under FreeBSD but
failed with umodem, which i assumed meant it wasn't ACM standard, but
was hopeful when a search turned up CDCE ("adds support for some
DOCSIS cable modems"). but how do i install the patch? Do i need to
de-install and re-install? I couldn't install the tarball downloaded
from FreeBSD.org, cdce.tar.gz(system complained that it could not find
cdce-1.0.tar.gz in /usr/ports/distfiles/), but I have successfully installed the one from
www.gank.org, cdce-1.0.tar.gz, using "make" then "make install". I
need to do this manually, since I can't do anything over the Internet
til I get my modem set up properly. Desperately need some help here.
