The very first thing I saw when I first started using FreeBSD was the sheer number of ports available. If you look for any particular program you often get as many as 25 listings. There is no way of evaluating them. With this in mind I suggest:
1) Count the number of times any particular port is downloaded and post that number.
2) Count the number of times a particular port description is read and post that number.
These two numbers would go a long way to help choose between many similar sounding ports. These two numbers are available at Sourceforge and are VERY helpful.
