They won't know.
When you fetch the source for a port, it might come directly from the home page for the website. In which case, FreeBSD doesn't know anything about it. It might come from any one of the many FreeBSD mirrors, each of which is independently administered. To combine the statistics from each mirror is not a trivial task. However, if someone was to present me with the data in an appropriate form, I'd consider including it.
