As you can see at http://www.freshports.org/www/mod_fcgid/, the maintainer was removed after the forum post.

I cannot submit a patch because I no longer have access to FreeBSD. I'm running Debian 3.1 until FreeBSD 6.x has most (not even all) of the ports I require on my servers.

If you or another person with access to FreeBSD can take over as maintainer of mod_fcgid, it would be beneficial.

mod_fcgid version in ports is outdated by over a year, and the project is gaining popularity due to people finally switching to Apache2 and also trying out Ruby-on-Rails since mod_fcgid is more stable than mod_fastcgi on Apache2 (at least on Linux with worker MPM).
