This port offers the development branch of the XS-HTTPD webserver.
The stable version of XS-HTTPD is available as well, as www/xshttpd.

Development releases are updated much more often and will contain
all kinds of nice new features - some of them are even documented.

Read the ChangeLog file for possible issues with backwards compatibility.

To install the port: cd /usr/ports/www/xshttpd-devel/ && make install clean
To add the package: pkg install www/xshttpd-devel


Configuration Options
===> The following configuration options are available for xshttpd-devel-3.7.b32:
     BDB=on: Berkeley DB support
     CURL=on: Data transfer support via cURL
     LDAP=off: LDAP protocol support
     M4=on: Enable configuration preprocessor (m4)
     PERL=off: Enable persistent Perl interpreter

Notes from UPDATING
These upgrade notes are taken from /usr/ports/UPDATING
  • 2010-10-30
    Affects: users of www/xshttpd-devel
    Author: johans@FreeBSD.org
    Reason: 
      The default XS-httpd configuration file locations have changed:
      The main configuration file is now $PREFIX/etc/xshttpd/httpd.conf
      and other configuration file are stored in that same directory.
      Existing configurations should be moved over manually.
      Log files now appear in /var/log/xshttpd/ by default.

- Rename DATADIR -> WWWDIR to prevent confusion
- Use a REINPLACE_CMD to don't install mime.types instead remove it after
  installed
- Use PORTDOCS facility
