Vicious is a modular widget library for the "awesome" window manager,
derived from the 'Wicked' widget library. It has some of the old
Wicked widget types, a few of them rewritten, and a good number of
new ones.

Remove `x11-wm/boxtools' port and provide an OPTION to install tools only.
Blackbox port is very light, and this separation does not really buys us
anything expect having to maintain two ports that operate on the very same
distfile. I could have probably just completely removed tools-only mode,
but there might be folks out there who believe this is a useful feature.

It will hold all of your open applications for fast switching.

There are three basic functionalities that you don't want to miss:
1. If you click on an icon it will be shown and raised to the top
and if its on another desk, then you will be switched to it.
2. If you drag an icon out of ITask the App will be shown on the
   current desktop.
3. Drag an icon to a pagers desk to send it.

It is a replacement for the standard winlist.

This module should not only look different as the e17 winlist, it
also will get a lot of functionality i was missing, for example:
decide while selecting if you want to jump to the desk of the
selected app or bring the selected app to the current desk, close
the selected app directly, show the selected app on the current
desk(if it's on another desk), etc.

mcwm is a minimalistic floating window manager for the X Window System.
It is built directly on top of XCB, the C binding for the X11 protocol.
It doesn't use the Xlib API at all.

All functions are available from the keyboard, but the mouse can be
used for moving,resizing and raise/lower.

Presenting GNOME 2.28.1 for FreeBSD. The official release notes for this
release can be found at http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.28/ .
Officially, this is mostly a polishing release in preparation for GNOME 3.0
due in about a year.

On the FreeBSD front, though, a lot went into this release. Major thanks
goes to kwm and avl who did a lot of the porting work for this release.
In particular, kwm brought in Evolution MAPI support for better Microsoft
Exchange integration. Avl made sure that the new gobject introspection
repository ports were nicely compartmentalized so that large dependencies
aren't brought in wholesale.

But, every GNOME team member (ahze, avl, bland, kwm, mezz, and myself)
contributed to this release.

Scrotwm is a small dynamic tiling window manager for X11. It tries to stay out
of the way so that valuable screen real estate can be used for much more
important stuff. It has sane defaults and does not require one to learn a
language to do any configuration. It was written by hackers for hackers and it
strives to be small, compact and fast.

It was largely inspired by xmonad and dwm. Both are fine products but suffer
from things like: crazy-unportable-language-syndrome, silly defaults,
asymmetrical window layout, "how hard can it be?" and good old NIH.
Nevertheless dwm was a phenomenal resource and many good ideas and code was
borrowed from it. On the other hand xmonad has great defaults, key bindings
and xinerama support but is crippled by not being written in C.

echinus is a dynamic window manager for X11 supporting managing windows in
floating, tiled and maximized layouts based on dwm.
All the configuration is made via config file in Xresources format.
Echinus supports a small subset of EWMH to be compatible with external panels
and pagers.
The goal of development is a small, fast window manager without features not
strictly related to window management (menus, panels, etc.)

This Login.app is a simple "greeter" program you can use for XDM sessions.
It is NOT a standalone XDM-like implementation, rather it takes advantage of
the modularity of GDM. GDM use special clients (gdmlogin or gdmgreater),
called "greeter" clients, to do the graphical part of a login.
The authentication, etc., is still done by the GDM daemon.
GDM communicates through pipes and a simple protocol with the clients
(check the GDMClient class and the list of opcodes to have a better idea).

Ion is a simple but extensible Window Manager that is closer to
Ratpoison and PWM than to anything else.

With Ion, the screen is divided into frames, and each program simply
lives in the frame it's provided. All Ion commands are keyboard-based.
Ion is also highly configurable and extensible through Lua.

Think of Ion like an X11 version of Screen.

Stumpwm is a tiling, keyboard driven X11 Window Manager written entirely in0
Common Lisp.

If you're tired of flipping through themes like channel-surfing, and going
from one perfect-except-for-just-one-thing window manager to another
even-more-broken-in-some-other-way then perhaps Stumpwm can help.

Stumpwm attempts to be customizable yet visually minimal. There are no window
decorations, no icons, and no buttons. It does have various hooks to attach
your personal customizations, and variables to tweak.

* Hack the good hack.
* Debug your good hack.
* Customize your window manager.

While it's running. That's right. With a 100% Common Lisp window manager
there's no stopping the hacks. Just re-eval and GO!

This is a port of FVWM-Crystal. FVWM-Crystal aims to create an easy to use,
eye-candy but also powerful desktop environment for Linux or other Unix-like
operating systems. It uses following programs: FVWM as a window manager and
"main core", ROX-Filer as file manager (manages icons on the desktop), xterm,
aterm, mrxvt or urxvt as terminal emulators, MPD or XMMS as music players
(there's built-in support for controlling these programs), and several other
tools for different functions, like setting a wallpaper or making screen
shots.

Obmenu is a menu editor designed for Openbox. It's easy to use, allowing
you to get the most out of the powerful Openbox menu system, while hiding
the xml layout from the user.

It can install dynamic menus (pipe menus), such as Gnome menus or a
quick-navigator. You can also use the obxml module to easily write pipe
menus of your own in Python.

awesome is a tiling window manager initialy based on a dwm code
rewriting. It's extremely fast, small, dynamic and awesome.

Windows can be managed in several layouts: tiled and floating. Each
layout can be applied on the fly, optimizing the environment for the
application in use and the task performed.

Managing windows in tiled mode assures that no space will be waste on
your screen. No gaps, no overlap.

Libcompizconfig is an alternative configuration system for
compiz and provides the following features:
- Automatic plugin list generation.
- Import/Export of the current configuration.
- Configuration profiles.
- Parsing of Compiz metadata files to provide an easy to use API for
configuration managers.
- Conflict handling for plugins and actions.
- Support for different configuration storage backends.
- Desktop environment integration. If a backend provides desktop
environment integration, then Compiz will share the keybindings
and settings with the default desktop environment window
manager like metacity or kwin.
- Its own Compiz configuration plugin "ccp" to provide all features
of libcompizconfig with compiz.

The x11-wm/fluxbox-devel has been merged into x11-wm/fluxbox and remove
fluxbox-devel. The 0.1.14 version is gone for good. The highlight changes for
fluxbox:

        -Update to 1.0rc2.
-Change the prefix from X11BASE (/usr/X11R6) to LOCALBASE (/usr/local).
-The bsetroot has been renamed to fbsetroot.

As for the other ports, chase the fluxbox-devel -> fluxbox.

x11-wm/sawfish2 -> x11-wm/sawfish

Rename this ports to use the real vendor package name. The advantage of this
is to allow our users' keyword search works and easier for users to file the
Bugzilla report when they use our name of ports. Debian, Gentoo, NetBSD and
other OSs have the correct package name, but not in our ports tree.

My team, FreeBSD GNOME Team, have agreed with it.

As for other ports, chase the rename.
