Why was the website so slow for so long?

The cause of the slowdown was a change to the ZFS dataset. In conjunction with the database server, very little caching was being done. This combination resulted in increased disk I/O as the system churned through the database. Details in the blog post which outlines the various things which changed. Many graphs.

420410 math/arpack-ng-mpich/Makefile
420410 math/arpack-ng/Makefile
420410 math/arpack-ng/distinfo
420410 math/arpack-ng/pkg-plist
- Update to version 3.4.0, now hosted on GitHub [1]
- Add EXAMPLES option [1]
- Fix COMMENT declaration, use ?= so that slave can overide it
- Convert to options helpers, test framework
- Remove MPI option and move it's all functionality to slave port
This allows removal of setting PKGNAMESUFFIX in master port depending
on options selected which is deprecated. Move LIB_DEPENDS on mpich2
to slave, declare CONFLICTS_INSTALL, MPICH_ARG in such way that can
  be overidden by the slave.

- Add an option MPI to build and install libparpack

- Create a slave port to build a package with this option

- Switch to an external plist, because many files are added.
