Courier is a modular multiprotocol mail server that's designed to
strike a balance between reasonable performance, flexibility and
features:
* Can be configured to function as an intermediate mail relay, or
as a mail server that receives mail for one or more domains, or
anything in between.
* Web-based administration and configuration tool.
* Uses an efficient maildir format as its native mail storage
format. Some support is provided for legacy mbox mailboxes.
* STARTTLS ESMTP extension (as well as IMAP/POP3/Webmail over SSL)
in both the client and the server (requires OpenSSL). The ESMTP
client can optionally require that the remote server's X.509
certificate is signed by a trusted root CA (a default set of
root CAs is provided).
* Mailboxes can be accessed via POP3, IMAP, SMAP, and HTTP.
* A faxmail gateway that forwards E-mail messages via fax.
* Courier includes a mailing list manager.
* PAM, LDAP, PostgreSQL, or MySQL authentication.
* Authenticated SMTP.
* Integrated mail filtering.

Only a handful of ports in tree uses this helper which
used to make a switch between devel/fam and devel/gamin more
convenient. With devel/fam going away there's no need to maintain
this any further for a handful of ports.

The update fixes build with devel/courier-unicode 2.4.0
While here modernize and cleanup port:
- Modernize RUN_DEPENDS syntax
- Convert to USES=localbase
- Retire Noop options RCCONF and PERIODIC
- Convert to option helpers where possible/convenient
- Configure script unconditionally checks for gnupg, but in wrong
path. So, moved it as unconditional RUN_DEPENDS, using helper ENV
var to point to correct executable
- Sort variable and values (intentionally keeping ASPELL and ISPELL
near though)
- Removed redundant pre-everything echoing well known information
- Fixed sqwebmail extra patches names/paths
- Fixed sqwebmail extra patch generating code that failed to compile

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

Make print/ghostscript9-agpl-base the default Ghostscript port. Upstream
changed the license to the AGPL 3 in version 9.07 so print/ghostscript9-base
is stuck at 9.06 which is almost 4 years old now.
Fix the logic in Uses/ghostscript.mk so "agpl" is treated as a real version
on its own instead of as a variant of other versions.
Fix print/ghostscript9-agpl-base to install eps2write.
Update math/asymptote to 2.37 to support newer Ghostscript.

Force numerous ports that fail to build with clang over to instead always
rely on gcc. The patch uses the new USE_GCC=any code in Mk/bsd.gcc.mk to
accomplish this.
The ports chosen were ports that blocked 2 or more ports from building with
clang. (There are several hundred other ports that still fail to build with
clang, even with this patch. This is merely one step along the way.)
Those interested in fixing these ports with clang, and have clang as their
default compiler, can simply set FORCE_BASE_CC_FOR_TESTING=yes.
For those who have gcc as their default compiler, this change is believed
to cause no change.

Tested with: multiple runs on amd64-8-exp-bcm and 9-exp-clang, with various
combinations of patch/no-patch and flag settings.
In the rc.d scripts, change assignments to rcvar to use the
literal name_enable wherever possible, and ${name}_enable
when it's not, to prepare for the demise of set_rcvar().
In cases where I had to hand-edit unusual instances also
modify formatting slightly to be more uniform (and in
some cases, correct). This includes adding some $FreeBSD$
tags, and most importantly moving rcvar= to right after
name= so it's clear that one is derived from the other.
- Add LDFLAGS to CONFIGURE_ENV and MAKE_ENV (as it was done with LDFLAGS)
- Fix all ports that add {CPP,LD}FLAGS to *_ENV to modify flags instead

Fix a few "bad example" problems in the rc.d scripts that have been
propogated by copy and paste.
1. Primarily the "empty variable" default assignment, which is mostly
${name}_flags="", but fix a few others as well.
2. Where they are not already documented, add the existence of the _flags
(or other deleted empties) option to the comments, and in some cases add
comments from scratch.
3. Replace things that look like:
prefix=%%PREFIX%%
command=${prefix}/sbin/foo
to just use %%PREFIX%%. In many cases the $prefix variable is only used
once, and in some cases it is not used at all.
4. In a few cases remove ${name}_flags from command_args
5. Remove a long-stale comment about putting the port's rc.d script in
/etc/rc.d (which is no longer necessary).
No PORTREVISION bumps because all of these changes are noops.
Update CONFIGURE_ARGS for how we pass CONFIGURE_TARGET to configure script.
Specifically, newer autoconf (> 2.13) has different semantic of the
configure target. In short, one should use --build=CONFIGURE_TARGET
instead of CONFIGURE_TARGET directly. Otherwise, you will get a warning
and the old semantic may be removed in later autoconf releases.
To workaround this issue, many ports hack the CONFIGURE_TARGET variable
so that it contains the ``--build='' prefix.
To solve this issue, under the fact that some ports still have
configure script generated by the old autoconf, we use runtime detection
in the do-configure target so that the proper argument can be used.

- Add runtime detection magic in bsd.port.mk

Bump portrevision due to upgrade of devel/gettext.
The affected ports are the ones with gettext as a run-dependency

Remove the FreeBSD KEYWORD from all rc.d scripts where it appears.
We have not checked for this KEYWORD for a long time now, so this
is a complete noop, and thus no PORTREVISION bump. Removing it at
this point is mostly for pedantic reasons, and partly to avoid
perpetuating this anachronism by copy and paste to future scripts.
Remove direct LIB_DEPENDS on fam in favour of the new USE_FAM
infrastructure. Default to WANT_FAM_SYSTEM=fam to be conservative since
these ports either have not been tested with gamin or are known to fail
(courier).

Mass-conversion to the USE_AUTOTOOLS New World Order. The code present
in bsd.autotools.mk essentially makes this a no-op given that all the
old variables set a USE_AUTOTOOLS_COMPAT variable, which is parsed in
exactly the same way as USE_AUTOTOOLS itself.
Moreover, USE_AUTOTOOLS has already been extensively tested by the GNOME
team -- all GNOME 2.12.x ports use it.
