Netatalk is an OpenSource software package, that can be used to turn an
inexpensive *NIX machine into an extremely high-performance and reliable
file server for Macintosh computers.
Using Netatalk's AFP 3.4 compliant file-server leads to significantly higher
transmission speeds compared with Macs accessing a server via SaMBa/NFS
while providing clients with the best possible user experience (full support
for Macintosh metadata, flawlessly supporting mixed environments of classic

gnome: replace tracker3 with tinysparql
Bump the revision of each component which was still using tracker3 or
even2.
Note in the case of grilo-plugins, this removes libsoup2 from the path
of certains applications.
net/netatalk[34]: Add a new port, netatalk4
Netatalk4 is the latest release of the Netatalk Open Source macOS AFPD
file server suite.
For now, both netatalk3 and netatalk4 will remain, but it is becoming
clear, netatalk4 is The Way™, and netatalk3 should be considered
deprecated.
Netatalk4 has had several releases already, so the underlying afpd
server should be quite stable. Note that since FreeBSD removed
AppleTalk (ddp) support a while ago, that part of netatalk4 is not
enabled.

Mk/Uses/meson.mk: pass --localstatedir like GNU_CONFIGURE after 9f4546a03cc0
Meson defaults to --localstatedir=/var/local if --prefix=/usr/local
but this is not valid for ports/ or FreeBSD hier(7).

net/netatalk3: Use iconv:wchar_t to fix build when DBUS is disabled
This mirrors what glib20 uses for iconv, and will ensure that we bring
in converters/libiconv in all cases. Not bumping PORTREVISION as the
dependency list doesn't change in the default case.

A big change was a move to Meson for build. This introduced some new
breakages, but I think I have fixed them. Runtime tests show

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

The check for off/len equal to 0 seems incorrect since both should be
allowed in general. The main validity check will ensure that all types
are correctly handled.
In addition, add more logging to it's easier to spot conditions that
could be breaking things.

Fix CONFLICTS entries of multiple ports
There have been lots of missing CONFLICTS_INSTALL entries, either
because conflicting ports were added without updating existing ports,
due to name changes of generated packages, due to mis-understanding
the format and semantics of the conflicts entries, or just due to
typoes in package names.
This patch is the result of a comparison of all files contained in
the official packages with each other. This comparison was based on
packages built with default options and may therefore have missed
further conflicts with optionally installed files.

generalized, some times taking advantage of the fact that a port

The conflict checks compare the patterns first against the package
names without version (as reported by "pkg query "%n"), then - if
there was no match - agsinst the full package names including the
version (as reported by "pkg query "%n-%v").
Many CONFLICTS definitions used patterns like "bash-[0-9]*" to filter
for the bash package in any version. But that pattern is functionally
identical with just "bash".

Grr...actually apply the diff to the port.
I reviewed the code, but simply copied over the file. Actually
apply the diff to create a usable patch to fix the -fno-common
issue.
Truncate the trailing newlines.
This syncs the README files that are produced during pkg-install with those
installed from source.
This prevents a checksum issue.

Convert Python ports to FLAVORS.
Ports using USE_PYTHON=distutils are now flavored. They will
automatically get flavors (py27, py34, py35, py36) depending on what
versions they support.
There is also a USE_PYTHON=flavors for ports that do not use distutils
but need FLAVORS to be set. A USE_PYTHON=noflavors can be set if
using distutils but flavors are not wanted.
A new USE_PYTHON=optsuffix that will add PYTHON_PKGNAMESUFFIX has been
added to cope with Python ports that did not have the Python
PKGNAMEPREFIX but are flavored.
USES=python now also exports a PY_FLAVOR variable that contains the

Previous rollback of PAM changes didn't update pkg-plist, so the PAM
option was broken.

MASTER_SITES cleanup.
- Replace ${MASTER_SITE_FOO} with FOO.
- Merge MASTER_SITE_SUBDIR into MASTER_SITES when possible. (This means 99.9%
of the time.)
- Remove occurrences of MASTER_SITE_LOCAL when no subdirectory was present and
no hint of what it should be was present.
- Fix some logic.
- And generally, make things more simple and easy to understand.
While there, add magic values to the FESTIVAL, GENTOO, GIMP, GNUPG, QT and
SAMBA macros.

Remove OSVERSION checks that do not make sense any more.
For example (${OSVERSION} >= 900000 && ${OSVERSION} < 900021) is always true,
as is (${OSVERSION} > 900002 || ${OSVERSION} < 900000 && ${OSVERSION} > 800107).
Regarding patches, when an EXTRA_PATCHES is no longer needed, I remove it, when
it is always needed, I renamed it, in one case, I merged two patches.

Berkeley DB cleanup, remove versions 4.0 ... 4.7.
- Mk/bsd.database.mk rewrite, new default to db5.
- db6 is eligible by default only if installed on the system.
- Bump PORTREVISION of all ports that directly depend on BerkeleyDB or
where USE_BDB is found in the port's directory
- Patch a few ports such that they will pick up or work with newer
versions.
- Add UPDATING entry
- Drive-by format fix for pks
- Drop BerkeleyDB option from mail/popular for now, requires more work.
