Why was the website so slow for so long?

The cause of the slowdown was a change to the ZFS dataset. In conjunction with the database server, very little caching was being done. This combination resulted in increased disk I/O as the system churned through the database. Details in the blog post which outlines the various things which changed. Many graphs.

Remove indefinite articles and trailing periods from COMMENT, plus minor
COMMENT typos and surrounding whitespace fixes. A few Makefiles where not
included as they contain Latin-1 characters that break the Phabricator
workflow. Category N.

Simple asynchronous AMQP driver for Ruby/EventMachine.
This library works with Ruby 1.8, Ruby 1.9, JRuby and Rubinius.

This library was tested primarily with RabbitMQ, although it
should be compatible with any server implementing the AMQP 0-8 spec.

WWW: https://github.com/ruby-amqp/amqp

This version is currently required for chef-server which would be a downgrade
of the existing port.
