New port: shells/poshinit: Portable shell setup for Bash/Zsh across
FreeBSD/Linux/Cygwin

You want your shell stuff to work the same way even when you use a
different shell, or even a different box. Right?

If you use poshinit (Portable Shell Initialization), you can attain at
least most of what you desire, perhaps even all. You can log out of Bash
and log in with Zsh (or vice versa) - and your aliases/exports/functions
will continue to work as before.

It gets better - if someday you need to use a different box with a
different OS, you can get your shell to work your 'normal' way in a
jiffy. Just save your $HOME/.shell directory on your primary box, and
paste it over your second box's $HOME/.shell (after running poshinit
setup script on the second box). The second box need not be the same
operating system - poshinit works across FreeBSD / Linux / Cygwin.

Add shells/antibody

This is a zsh plugin manager. Its syntax is similar to antigen, but is
much, much faster. It's written in go (making it necessarily faster than
antigen), but can also dump plugin info to a loadable script so that
antibody doesn't need to run at all when spawning new shells.

Antibody is a shell plugin manager made from the ground up thinking about
performance.

It is faster because it can do things concurrently, while Antigen does it
sequentially. It also has the advantage of using a compiled language (go)
instead of a scripting one.

the overall quality and security of the shell, eliminating the
possibilities of a ShellShock-like vulnerability, and making
development easier. It also offers a level of performance that
exceeds that of Dash, when taking advantage of Ion's features.
While it is developed alongside, and primarily for, RedoxOS, it is

complex code in Bash.

Ammonite lets you use the Scala language for scripting purposes: in a
Read-Evaluate-Print-Loop (REPL), as scripts, as a library to use
in existing projects, or as a standalone systems shell.

- Add p5-Bash-Completion 0.008

bash completion should just work when you install new commands. Bash::Completion
is a system to use and write bash completion rules.

For end-users, you just need to add this line to your .bashrc or .bash_profile:

    setup-bash-complete

This will load all the installed Bash::Completion plugins, make sure they should
be activated and generate the proper bash code to setup bash completion for
them.

If you later install a new command line tool, and it has a
Bash::Completion::Plugin -based plugin, all your new shells will have bash
completion rules for it. You can also force immediate setup by running the same
command:

    setup-bash-complete

To write a new Bash::Completion plugin, see Bash::Completion::Plugin.

1.91 shells/Makefile
1.1 shells/ambit/Makefile
1.1 shells/ambit/distinfo
1.1 shells/ambit/pkg-descr
1.1 shells/ambit/pkg-plist
Ambit, at its simplest, uses Bash Brace Expansion to expand and list
hostnames OR commands. First and foremost Ambit is meant to be a general
purpose hostlist enumerator to be used by other applications or scripts.
Additionally Ambit can be used to manage User Specific as well as
System-Wide HostGroups. It can also be used to query Network HostGroups.
Finally, Ambit is able to detect when it is expanding a command (rather than
a host list), allowing for the command to be expanded and executed
synchronously. This means Ambit can expand and run just about anything on
the command line and usually works in places where Bash Brace Expansion
might fail.

trivial to implement.

New port: shells/viewglob, a GTK+ add-on to bash and zsh

viewglob is an utility designed to complement the Unix shell
in graphical environments. It has two parts:

          1. A tool that sits as a layer between the shell and X
terminal, keeping track of the user's current directory
             and command line.

          2. A graphical display which shows the layouts of directories
referenced on the command line (including pwd).

The display reveals the results of file globs and expansions
as they are typed (hence the name), highlighting selected
        files and potential name completions.

It can also be used as a surrogate terminal, where keystrokes
typed in the display are passed to the shell. Files and
directories can be double-clicked to insert their names
        and/or paths into the terminal.

Add zsh+euc, Zsh with EUC encoding support.

This is just an experimental hack and cannot happily be merged into
the upstream. Zsh's line editor apparently needs a rewrite in order
to support multi-byte encodings because it strongly relies on the
single-byte character scheme.

These patches are mostly based on the work by ono@ono.org (Thanks!):

        http://www.ono.org/software/zsh-euc/

What I did over this is disable the hack for non-EUC locales. Maybe
the patches can be moved to shells/zsh in the future, but it's
premature for the moment.

Notes:
- forward-char, backward-char and backward-delete-char with no numeric
argument should work properly with this hack.
- Completion and redisplay should work fine.
- There can be some trivial side-effects.
- JIS X0201-Roman and JIS X0208-Kanji are supported.
- JIS X0201-Katakana and JIS X0212 Kanji are NOT supported.
- Only tested with the EUC-JP (ja_JP.eucJP) locale. I'm not sure if
it works for GB 2312/CNS 11643-1/KS X 1001. Any feedbacks is
welcome, especially a patch if it does not work. :)
