What is CubicSDR ?

CubicSDR is the software portion of Software Defined Radio.
By Using hardware that converts RF spectrum into a digital
stream we are able to build complex radios to do many types
of functions in software instead of traditional hardware.

What can I do with CubicSDR ?

Paired with a supported hardware receiver, you can use CubicSDR
to explore the RF world around you. Discover Satellite transmissions,
Amateur Radio, Rail, Areonautical, Shortwave, or any number of
possible signals floating through the air.

New port: comms/redsea

redsea is a lightweight command-line decoder for broadcast FM-RDS data,
such as that provided from a software-defined radio (SDR). It can also
decode raw ASCII bitstreams, the hex format provided by RDS Spy, and audio
files containing multiplex signals. Decoded RDS groups are printed to the
terminal as line-delimited JSON objects; optionally, undecoded hex blocks
can be output instead.

This program is intended to be used in combination with a separate source
of demodulated FM multiplex signals, such as rtl-sdr.

Snap7, through three specialized components: Client and the inedited Server
and Partner, allows you to definitively integrate your PC based systems into
a PLC automation chain.

Designed to transfer large amounts of hi-speed data in industrial facilities,
it scales easily, down to small Linux Arm boards such as Raspberry PI.

Hi level object oriented wrappers are provided, currently C/C++, .NET/Mono,
Pascal, LabVIEW, Python with many source code examples.

Very detailed documentation provided.

Python XMODEM protocol implementation

This is a literal implementation of XMODEM.TXT, XMODEM1K.TXT and
XMODMCRC.TXT, support for YMODEM and ZMODEM is pending. YMODEM should
be fairly easy to implement as it is a hack on top of the XMODEM
protocol using sequence bytes ``0x00`` for sending file names (and some
meta data).

A Linux toolkit for handling signals over the automatric picture
transmission (APT) protocol.

## Intro to Automatic Picture Transmission
Automatic picture transmission (APT) is an analog image transmission format
developed for use on weather satellites in the 1960s. While only three
modern satellites, NOAA 15, NOAA 18, and NOAA 19, transmit on the APT
protocol, building a reception station is cheap and simple. The images can
be quite high qualitythey natively have a resolution of
4 km/px. It is reasonable to expect at least one good-quality satellite
pass (and, thereby, opportunity for image downlink) per day.

flcluster is a stand alone dx cluster client that will also connect to fldigi
and act as the dx cluster client for fldigi. Multiple instances of flcluster
can simultaneously connect to fldigi, and fldigi's internal dx cluster client
can also be connected at the same time. Connectivity is via a socket interface,
so flclient can reside on the same or a different computer on the LAN or WAN
so long as it is possible to establish the socket (xmlrpc) connection.

Update the Qt5 ports to 5.6.1.

This took longer than expected, but there are quite a few changes to the
existing ports and a few new ones.

General upstream changes:
- Starting with Qt 5.6.2, Qt will fail at configuration time if LibreSSL is
being used. According to the discussion here:
  https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/154800/
The Qt project is not opposed to LibreSSL, but does not want to mix
support for it into the OpenSSL backend code, especially as they move
  towards supporting OpenSSL 1.1.
People interested in LibreSSL support are welcome to submit a separate
backend upstream, but are expected to maintain it. We (kde@) are not
opposed to carrying some patches authored by others in the future, as long

New port: "Yet Another APRS Client" - A Java-based graphical APRS client.

YAAC can be used as a stand-alone APRS client, an APRS RF-Internet gateway
(I-Gate), or as a AX.25 digipeater. It supports 16 different data reporting
views as delivered, and can be extended with user-written "plugins" to add
more functionality. YAAC's map rendering does not depend on Internet
connectivity, so it can be used wherever a portable computer and radio/TNC
can be located.

A simple software defined radio (SDR) library.
Although being simple, libsdr is sufficient to write a simple SDR receiver
application (github.com/hmatuschek/sdr-rx, above). This RX application
supports several input sources (i.e. sound card, files, RTL2382 dongles etc.)
and modes (i.e. AM, FM, SSB, CW, etc.).

Update Qt5 to 5.5.1.

This is the latest stable release at time of writing.

Release announcement: http://blog.qt.io/blog/2015/07/01/qt-5-5-released/
New features in Qt 5.5: https://wiki.qt.io/New_Features_in_Qt_5.5

As usual, huge thanks to Tobias Berner (tcberner@gmail.com) for all his work
on these ports in kde@'s experimental area51 repository. He's the one who
started the update and did a lot of the initial work on Qt 5.5. Ralf Nolden
(nolden@kde.org) has contributed the initial version of most of our new Qt5
ports.

Also thanks to Yuri Victorovich (yuri@rawbw.com) for contributing PR 205805
with his own patch for the 5.5.1 update. Some of his changes there prompted

FreeDV is a Digital Voice mode for HF radio. FreeDV allows any SSB radio
to be used for low bit rate digital voice. Speech is compressed down to
700-1600 bit/s then modulated onto a 1.25 kHz wide signal comprised of
16 QPSK carriers which is sent to the Mic input of a SSB radio. The signal
is received by an SSB radio, then demodulated and decoded by FreeDV. FreeDV
700(B) rivals SSB in it's low SNR performance. At high SNRs FreeDV 1600
sounds like FM, with no annoying analog HF radio noise.

At very long last land PyQt5 5.5.1 ports.

Add the required bits to Uses/pyqt.mk along with all the PyQt5 ports.
Thankfully this commit is mostly adding new ports, as the hard work was
already done in r403297 and r403662.

Huge kudos to Tobias Berner <tcberner@gmail.com> and, most importantly,
Guido Falsi (madpilot@) for their initial work on these ports (see D2910 in
Phabricator for an earlier version of the PyQt5 patch set).

Previously, this was a build-time option, but the primary use of
comms/unixcw is to provide libcw.so (and it's a dependency of
comms/cwdaemon).

Since comms/cwdaemon is not a GUI program, it doesn't make sense to enable
the GUI by default, which would mean pkg users couldn't install this
program. By splitting it into a sub-port, it's now available via pkg
and more obviously present when earching ports.

Add new port comms/telldus-core

PR: 189221
Submitted by:	johan (stromnet.se)

Allows access to Telldus Tellstick USB dongles for communicating with
433MHz devices in your home.

Provides "telldusd", the daemon which keeps track of your tellstick
devices. Through a UNIX socket, the sensors and devices can be used/
controlled from the command line tool "tdtool", or via the libtelldus-core
C client library.

been cleaned up and the distfile has a new home. Pass maintainership

xnec2c is a GTK+ graphical interactive version of nec2c. It incorporates the
nec2c core which it uses for reading input files and calculating output data,
but it does not need and indeed does not produce an output file by default.
Graphs of frequency-related data and the current or charge distribution
evolve as the frequency loop progresses, and radiation patterns (far and
near field) are sequentially drawn for each frequency step.
