Get notified when packages are built

A new feature has been added. FreshPorts already tracks package built by the FreeBSD project. This information is displayed on each port page. You can now get an email when FreshPorts notices a new package is available for something on one of your watch lists. However, you must opt into that. Click on Report Subscriptions on the right, and New Package Notification box, and click on Update.

Finally, under Watch Lists, click on ABI Package Subscriptions to select your ABI (e.g. FreeBSD:14:amd64) & package set (latest/quarterly) combination for a given watch list. This is what FreshPorts will look for.

Add new port dns/dnstable.

dnstable implements an encoding format for passive DNS data. It
consists of a C library, libdnstable, and several command line
utilities for creating, querying, and merging dnstable data files.

It stores key-value records in Sorted String Table (SSTable) files
and provides high-level interfaces for querying or iterating over
the stored records. dnstable encodes individual records using a
format tailored for efficiently storing passive DNS data and can
quickly perform both "forward" and "inverse" searches.

New port: dns/wrapsrv

DNS SRV record command line wrapper
-----------------------------------

wrapsrv adds support for connecting to a network service based on DNS SRV
record lookups to commands that do not support the DNS SRV record. wrapsrv
implements the weighted priority client connection algorithm in RFC 2782.
The specified command line will be invoked one or more times with %h and %p
sequences in the command line substituted for the hostname and port elements
of the selected SRV record.

New port: dns/gdnsd2:

gdnsd is an Authoritative-only DNS server. This port tracks the 2.x release.

The initial g stands for Geographic, as gdnsd offers a plugin system for
geographic (or other sorts of) balancing, redirection, and
service-state-conscious failover. If you don't care about that feature,
it's still quite good at being a very fast, lean, and resilient
authoritative-only server for static DNS data.

gdnsd is written in C using libev and pthreads with a focus on high
performance, low latency service. It does not offer any form of caching or
recursive service, and does not support DNSSEC.

Remove dns/powerdns-devel port per maintainer approval

As dns/powerdns was just updated to version 3.4, there was a decision to
be had to disable the -devel version or just remove the port altogether.
Due to the frequency of releases and the manner on how the upcoming
version is tested, it made sense to retire the port (at version 3.3).

Update CentOS base to 6.5, add userland ports

The Fedora 10 infrastructure ports have been in use since June 2009 and, while
having served a great deed, have become unsupported upstream and hence affected
by unfixed security vulnerabilities. In addition to that, many recent Linux
binaries need newer libc / stdlibc++ versions.

This commit adds the linux-c6- userland as drop-in replacement for the -f10
infrastructure, as well as upgrading the linux_base-c6 port to CentOS 6.5.

If you want to switch to linux-c6 ports, please define at /etc/make.conf:

    OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=c6
    OVERRIDE_LINUX_NONBASE_PORTS=c6

Additionally, please add the following line to /etc/sysctl.conf:

    compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.18

Upgrading procedures are shown in /usr/ports/UPDATING.

This work has been inspired by Artyom Mirgorodskiy's post to emulation@ in
November 2013, using and extending mav@'s work. It has been tested extensively
and most reported issues were already fixed. Please report any additional bug
or "features" to the emulation mailing list.

Add dns/dnshistory. It caches DNS lookups into a BDB database. It's designed
to be used with awffull.

Provide a means for storing a history of DNS/Name changes for the IP Addresses
extracted from web log files. The major target being that multiple analyses of
older log files do not require re-lookups of IP Address to FQDNs, and
additionally maintain the accuracy of the lookup as it was then and not as it
is now.

Introduce BIND 9.10.0rc1

BIND 9.10 includes a number of changes from earlier releases, including:
- DNS Response-rate limiting (DNS RRL)
- A new "prefetch" option can improve recursive resolver performance
- ACLs can now be specified based on geographic location using the
  MaxMind GeoIP databases.
- A new compile-time option, NATIVE_PKCS11 allows the BIND 9
cryptography functions to use the PKCS#11 API natively.

                               *NOTE*
This is a release candidate, it may contain bugs.

New port: dns/getdns:

getdns is a modern asynchronous DNS API.

It implements DNS entry points from a design developed and vetted by application
developers, in an API specification edited by Paul Hoffman. With the development
of this API, we intend to offer application developers a modernized and flexible
way to access DNS security (DNSSEC) and other powerful new DNS features;
a particular hope is to inspire application developers towards innovative
security solutions in their applications.

Add new Ada-based DNS server port: dns/ironsides

IRONSIDES is an authoritative DNS server that is provably invulnerable to
many of the problems that plague other servers. It achieves this property
through the use of formal methods in its design, in particular the language
Ada and the SPARK formal methods tool set. Code validated in this way is
provably exception-free, contains no data flow errors, and terminates only
in the ways that its programmers explicitly say that it can. These are very
desirable properties from a computer security perspective.

IRONSIDES is not a complete implementation of DNS. In particular, it does
not support zone transfers or recursive queries. It does, however, support
a sufficient number of DNS records to be useful as an authoritative DNS
server for an enterprise.

Please welcome NSD 4.0.0

For all new features, see
http://www.nlnetlabs.nl/svn/nsd/tags/NSD_4_0_0_REL/doc/NSD-4-features

This version replaces the nsdc control program with nsd-control.
This requires some manual setup with nsd-control-setup and editing
of the config files. nsd-control is incompatible with nsdc so when
that is used in scripts, these should be adapted.

NSD 3 is still supported as dns/nsd3.

Add new dnsmasq-devel version, for development/test/release candidate versions.
This port is based on dns/dnsmasq 2.62_1,1 and has been updated to 2.63rc2.

Description (by Simon Kelley, the upstream maintainer):
Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy to configure DNS forwarder and DHCP server.
It is designed to provide DNS and, optionally, DHCP, to a small network. It
can serve the names of local machines which are not in the global DNS. The
DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows machines with
DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in the DNS with names configured either
in each host or in a central configuration file. Dnsmasq supports static and
dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP/TFTP/PXE for network booting of diskless
machines.

add new port: dns/py-publicsuffix

This module allows you to get the public suffix of a domain name using
the Public Suffix List from http://publicsuffix.org

A public suffix is one under which Internet users can directly register names.
Some examples of public suffixes are .com, .co.uk and pvt.k12.wy.us.
Accurately knowing the public suffix of a domain is useful when handling web
browser cookies, highlighting the most important part of a domain name in a

gdnsd is an Authoritative-only DNS server.

The initial g stands for Geographic, as gdnsd offers a plugin system for
geographic (or other sorts of) balancing, redirection, and
service-state-conscious
failover. If you don't care about that feature, it's still quite good at being
a very fast, lean, and resilient authoritative-only server for static DNS data.

gdnsd is written in C using libev and pthreads with a focus on highi
performance,
low latency service. It does not offer any form of caching or recursive service,
and does not support DNSSEC.

- Add p5-Net-DNS-Zone-Parser 0.02

The Net::DNS::Zone::Parser should be considered a preprocessor that "normalizes"
a zonefile.

It will read a zonefile in a format conforming to the relevant RFCs with the
addition of BIND's GENERATE directive from disk and will write fully specified
resource records (RRs) to a filehandle. Whereby:
- All comments are stripped
- There is one RR per line
- Each RR is fully expanded i.e. all domain names are fully qualified
(canonicalised) and the CLASS and TTLs are specified.
- Some RRs may be 'stripped' from the source or otherwise processed. For details
  see the 'read' method.

Note that this module does not have a notion of what constitutes a valid zone,
it only parses. For example, the parser will happilly parse RRs with ownernames
that are below in another zone because a NS RR elsewhere in the zone.

- Add p5-Mozilla-PublicSuffix 0.1.6

Mozilla::PublicSuffix provides a single function that returns the public suffix
of a domain name by referencing a parsed copy of Mozilla's Public Suffix List.
From the official website at http://publicsuffix.org:

A "public suffix" is one under which Internet users can directly register names.
Some examples of public suffixes are .com, .co.uk and pvt.k12.wy.us. The Public
Suffix List is a list of all known public suffixes.

A copy of the official list is bundled with the distribution. As the official
list continues to be updated, the bundled copy will inevitably fall out of date.
Therefore, if the bundled copy of found to be over thirty days old, this
distribution's installer provides the option to check for a new version of the
list and download/use it if one is found.

By popular demand add a port for the newest BIND branch, 9.9.x. This will
stay as a -devel until it's formally released, which should be soon'ish.

BIND 9.9 includes a number of changes from BIND 9.8 and earlier releases,
including:
        NXDOMAIN redirection
Improved startup and reconfiguration time, especially with large
                numbers of authoritative zones
New "inline-signing" option, allows named to sign zones completely
                transparently, including static zones
Many other new features, especially for DNSSEC

- Add rubygem-public_suffix_service 0.9.0

Public Suffix Service is a Ruby domain name parser based on the Public Suffix
List.

The Public Suffix Service is a cross-vendor initiative to provide an accurate
list of domain name suffixes.

The Public Suffix Service is an initiative of the Mozilla Project, but is
maintained as a community resource. It is available for use in any software, but
was originally created to meet the needs of browser manufacturers.

A "public suffix" is one under which Internet users can directly register names.
Some examples of public suffixes are ".com", ".co.uk" and "pvt.k12.wy.us". The
Public Suffix List is a list of all known public suffixes.

Remove dns/nsd2 at maintainer's request:

This version of nsd is end of life since 2007 and unsupported.
See the details at http://nlnetlabs.nl/projects/nsd/nsd-v2.html.

The current version also contains a vulnerability. It is much
more sensible to move to a supported version (as available in
the port dns/nsd).

Router Advertisement DNS (radns)

radns is an IPv6 DNS server address autoconfiguration client. It
listens for IPv6 Router Advertisements with the Recursive DNS Server
(RDNSS) and the DNS Search List (DNSSL) options and stores the search
list and address(es) in a file in the same syntax as resolv.conf(5).

Add a -devel port for 9.8.0a1, which will allow people to experiment
with DNS64. Once 9.8.0 is released officially the -devel tag will be
removed.

BIND version 9 is a major rewrite of nearly all aspects of the underlying BIND
architecture. Some of the important features of BIND 9 are:

DNS Security: DNSSEC (signed zones), TSIG (signed DNS requests)
IP version 6: Answers DNS queries on IPv6 sockets, IPv6 resource records (AAAA)
     Experimental IPv6 Resolver Library
DNS Protocol Enhancements: IXFR, DDNS, Notify, EDNS0
     Improved standards conformance
Views: One server process can provide multiple "views" of the DNS namespace,
e.g. an "inside" view to certain clients, and an "outside" view to others.
Multiprocessor Support

BIND 9.8 includes a number of changes from BIND 9.7 and earlier releases,
including:
Preliminary DNS64 support (AAAA synthesis only initially)

See the CHANGES file for more information on features.

using PHP5 objects, exceptions for error handling, better sockets support.

This release is (in most cases) 2x - 10x faster than Net_DNS, as well as
includes more RR's (including DNSSEC RR's), and improved sockets and streams
support.

Class to setup a number of nameservers that respond to specific DNS queries
(QNAME,QTYPE) by prespecified answers. This class is to be used in test suites
where you want to have servers to show predefined behavior.

If the server will do a lookup based on QNAME,QTYPE and return the specified

A log will be written to STDERR it contains time, IP/PORT, QNAME, QTYPE, RCODE.
