niri is a scrollable-tiling Wayland compositor inspired by PaperWM.
Windows are tiled on an infinite horizontal strip that scrolls left
and right. They don't "overflow" onto adjacent monitors. Opening a new
window never resizes existing ones.
Features:
- Scrollable tiling
- Dynamic workspaces like in GNOME
- Built-in screenshot UI
- Monitor screencasting through xdg-desktop-portal-gnome
- Touchpad gesture to switch workspaces
- Configurable layout: gaps, borders, struts, window sizes
- Live-reloading config
===> The following configuration options are available for niri-0.1.4:
PIPEWIRE=on: Screen capture via PipeWire
===> Use 'make config' to modify these settings
x11-wm/niri: update to 0.1.3
Manually starting from VT console now requires --session flag in order
for niri to set XDG_SESSION_TYPE and XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP. It's passed
automatically (via niri.desktop) when using a greeter like ly or sddm.

XDG_SESSION_TYPE is usually set by consolekit2 on behalf of sddm.
seatd doesn't support XDG_SESSION_TYPE, so niri emulates like wlroots.
