Notes from UPDATING
These upgrade notes are taken from /usr/ports/UPDATING
  • 2017-11-30
    Affects: */py*
    Author: mat@FreeBSD.org
    Reason:
Ports using Python via USES=python are now flavored. All the py3-* ports
have been removed and folded into their py-* master ports.

People using Poudriere 3.2+ and binary packages do not have to do anything.

For other people, to build the Python 3.6 version of, for example,
      databases/py-gdbm, you need to run:

        # make FLAVOR=py36 install

  • 2011-09-29
Affects: users of net/py-zope.proxy, devel/py-zope.testing and
             devel/py-zope.interface
    Author: Ruslan Mahmatkhanov <cvs-src@yandex.ru>
    Reason:
Several Zope ports have been renamed for consistency with their
upstream distributions. Please run the following commands to update
      your local installations:

      If you use portmaster run:
      # portmaster -o devel/py-zope.interface devel/py-zopeInterface
      # portmaster -o net/py-zope.proxy net/py-zopeproxy
      # portmaster -o devel/py-zope.testing devel/py-zopetesting

      If you use portupgrade run:
      # portupgrade -o devel/py-zope.interface devel/py-zopeInterface
      # portupgrade -o net/py-zope.proxy net/py-zopeproxy
      # portupgrade -o devel/py-zope.testing devel/py-zopetesting

Switch all pypi.python.org WWWs to a new PyPi home pypi.org where
they now redirect to anyway. All new urls checked to return 200,
I've fixed a couple of them in the process.

Tidy up zope/plone ports over the tree. Common changes:
- remove indefinite article from COMMENT
- align USE_PYDISTUTILS value in Makefile
- tab -> space change in pkg-descr:WWW
- update WWW to use https scheme in url to avoid redirect
- add trailing slash to WWW

All changes are non-functional.

The vast majority of pkg-descr files had the following format when they
had both lines:

Author: ...
WWW: ....

So standardize on that, and move them to the end of the file when necessary.

Also fix some more whitespace, and remove more "signature tags" of varying
forms, like -- name, etc.
